The TW907 is the latest in
the TACTYS range. Equipped with a key pad, it operates
using Zigbee technology (industrial version of Bluetooth).
It’s the wireless version of the T707 model. The
receiving antenna can be connected to the PC’s USB
port, and allows for a range of operation greater than
50 meters; but more important, the radio transmissions
go through walls, allowing remote operation of the central
unit.
The battery system (rechargeable batteries) offers
20-hour autonomy for continuous use. In order to
save energy, the keyboard goes on automatic stand-by mode
after a few seconds. A green light blinks to indicate
this. The user reactivates the keyboard simply by touching
a special zone in the the right corner: it is immediately
operational. In stand-by mode, the autonomy is more than
200 days. When the batteries need recharging, a red light
begins to blink, but the keyboard still has enough autonomy
to complete the current session. Recharging
is done wirelessly, by an induction system: simply
place the keyboard on a plate (reference PT907), and the
red light remains on to indicate that the charge is underway.
This wireless model has the same features as wired keyboards:
beep for keystroke confirmation, locking key for cleaning.
