Nosocomial infections (contracted in a medical facility) are far too frequent. 700,000 persons are contaminated each year in France (Libération Sept 1, 2006). Computer keyboards are one of the leading sites for bacteria and other germs that can lodge between keys, and are very difficult to remove.  Developed with hygiene nurses and leaders from the CLIN (Centre de Lutte contre les Infections Nosocomiales), the TACTYS keyboard responds to the hygiene standards and specific needs of hospitals (operating rooms, white rooms, etc.), of controlled-atmosphere environments (laboratories, etc.), of medical and dental clinics.

 It is suited to the needs for cleanliness for the food processing industry, for toughness for public places (multimedia terminals, etc.), or for comfort for persons with limited mobility.
